The London Western Track and Field Club is committed to developing strong skill sets among all its athletes. The coaches are trained through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Each of the programs offered are designed in conjunction with the Long Term Athlete Developmental (LTAD) plan developed by Athletics Canada. Junior Development Program
|
This program is designed for children ages 7 – 13 years old.
Our coaches are UWO track and field varsity athletes. This program is focused on developing flexibility, quickness, balance, and overall coordination, through learning basic skills for each discipline (running, jumping and throwing).

Novice (ages 7-10 years old) – develops good training habits such as warm up, cool down, and provides a positive and fun atmosphere for learning

Junior (ages 11-13 years old)* – practice and progress to a higher level of development of running, jumping, and throwing skills, provides a positive and fun atmosphere for learning.

Entry Level Program
|
This program is designed for young athletes ages 11 – 14 years of age. Coaches are NCCP trained and are committed to developing and enhancing the athletes’ over all flexibility, quickness, balance, coordination. The athletes “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” . The athletes develop good training habits in regards to warm-up, cool down, nutrition, and mental skills. Athletes who join this program have been involved with our Junior Development Program for a number of sessions and have expressed a strong interest in event specific training.

Non-Competitive Program
|
This program is offered to athletes who are interested in developing their flexibility, quickness, balance, coordination and fitness levels. Athletes who sign up for this program train with the competitive athletes, but to do not compete at the various track and field meets throughout the season.

Competitive Program
|
This program is designed for athletes aged 15 years and older. The coaches are committed to guiding the athletes through age appropriate exercises and training volume/intensities. The athletes, depending on their age, “Learn to Compete”, “Train to Compete”, “Learn to Win”, “Win for a Living”.
